I really think this will anger users and cause posts to be spammed instead. This would replace one problem with two.

No way! There may be spams, so maybe some spammers don't get chat for a while until they get completly banned from it or learn to stop. The same with swearers.

I think it would be wise to disable commenting on articles. There are already talk pages to discuss improving articles, so comments are redundant.

For me, no. Even though there are sometimes spams, some people just like to talk about the (whatever the topic is). And if you like disable it, people might just get very mad and disappointed and spam even more on discussions. People like to talk/text in comments.

Noo, please dont, i think what would be good is a system where if anyone , like ANYONE on this wiki is making a arguement on articles/in the middle of one/sees one they should tag a mod, if they dont do this they get a warning, if they dont tag a mod for a 2nd time they get a hour/day ban

I'm neutral on this for several reasons. I won't care too much if the comments are disabled, but I'm going to go ahead and list some pros and cons for disabling them.

Pros:

• Everyone knows it. The comments are out of hand. A good majority of comments are completely useless, unrelated, or scandalous. While one could argue that these sorts of comments exist on all websites with comments, something needs to be done about the truly horrible ones, and creating more rules sure isn't the easiest thing to do.

• Comments don't have that great of a purpose here. I can't think of any instances where there are pages that actually need comments on them. Even when comments are suggesting edits to make, it'd be wrong to say that those comments couldn't have been made another place or that an actual edit couldn't have been made on the page and revised later.

Cons:

• Article comments are a way better place to voice small thoughts related to a page. Talking about a specific hat or task being your favorite will almost always now be considered low-effort in Discussions. Several people can't easily use or might not prefer using Discord over the comment section of an article they want to talk about, and it seems awfully logical to leave a comment on an article in the comment section of that article.

• Comments exist on most popular online sites, so removing them from this wiki may be surprising to newcomers. A comment section is the sort of thing that should be available everywhere, and not having one here could make it seem like something bad happened to cause them to be disabled. Or, newcomers could think that something's wrong with their device or Fandom itself, even if there isn't.

• Things could be made better in the comments. Hiring moderators specifically to moderate article comments or simply adding it as a priority for content or discussions moderators is an option. I'd be willing to have something like this be added to my position if need be.

No please. Comments help the admins and can provide them with tips from the people of a wiki or something like that. Sure, there are harmful ones, but you can install a 5 warnings, your blocked thing.

Yes. At the least, the 80% of comments in a article is advertising, off-topic or unnecesary. There are many comments that say ''Join my wiki'' ''[color] is sus'' ''diodwiod'' so, I think that yes and instead of that, use the Talk pages, on the talk pages is more easily for the mods for can revert, edit or delete a ''comment'' instead of deleting comment by comment.
