Discussion is the first of the two phases of an emergency meeting, preceding the voting period. During the discussion period, players cannot vote; this time is intended for players to discuss who they think is An Impostor before votes start to be cast via chat.

The specific amount of time for discussion is set by the host before the game in the options. Discussion time can be set to last anywhere from 0 to 120 seconds (in 15-second increments). If discussion time is set to 0, the discussion phase is skipped and the voting phase starts instead.

Trivia

• During the discussion period, Fortegreen's player icon will appear as a yellow-red color, which used to be Red's until version 2021.6.30.
• The "Discuss!" icon shown at the beginning of the discussion period was removed in version 2021.6.30. This means that the only time the icon is shown is in the How to Play section.
