This article is for the non-player characters in Practice.
For the normal in-game players, see Characters.

Dummies are objects that resemble characters used in Practice.

Appearance[]

Dummies, being non-player characters, appear as stationary characters spread across the map. They cannot be the same color as any other dummy or the player as in normal lobbies. They do not use cosmetics.

Overview[]

Dummies act as Crewmates for Impostors to interact with. They cannot move or perform actions, such as reporting, completing tasks, or resolving Sabotages. They can be killed and will turn into a dead body as normal. During emergency meetings, dummies do not chat. Instead, they either vote a random character or skip. Their votes act normally, which can cause the player or themselves to get ejected.

Spawn locations[]

In Practice, dummies appear in the following locations:

Map # of dummies Locations
The Skeld 6 MedBay, Admin, Security, Reactor, Navigation, Upper Engine
MIRA HQ 6 Locker Room, Storage, Balcony, Laboratory, Greenhouse, Admin
Polus 4 Outside (near lava pit), Specimen Room, Weapons, Boiler Room
The Airship 9 Engine Room, Medical, Security, Cockpit, Ventilation (near Showers), Communications, Meeting Room, Vault, Records
The Fungle 5 Beach (one near Storage, one near campfire), Kitchen, Mining Pit, Jungle (near Reactor)

Trivia[]

  • To avoid confusion, players were prevented from using 'Dummy' in their name. This restriction was removed in version 2021.3.31.
  • Dummies cannot become Impostors.
  • The dummies' colors in order from Dummy 1 to Dummy 9 are Red, Blue, Green, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Black, White, and Purple. In Practice on Polus, the color order is the same other than the fact that there is only Dummy 1, 2, 3, and 4 while in Practice on The Skeld and MIRA HQ, the color order is the same other than the fact that there is only Dummy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
    • The order of the dummies is the same as the order colors are listed when customizing one's color.
    • If the player is one of the colors used by a dummy, the color order of the dummies will stay the same but include the player's color within the order. Dummy 6 will become Black in Practice on The Skeld and MIRA HQ, following the colors' order when customizing one's color. Similarly, Dummy 4 will become Orange on Polus and Dummy 9 will become Brown on The Airship.
  • It is not possible for a dummy to be Cyan, Lime, Maroon, Rose, Banana, Gray, Tan, or Coral. This is because there is a maximum of 9 dummies (10 players) in Practice, and these colors' IDs are 10–17.
  • If the player kills a dummy, switches back to a Crewmate, and gets ejected during the voting period, they will see a ghost dummy in place of the dummy they killed. These act exactly like regular dummies other than the simple facts that they appear as ghosts and can only be seen by ghosts.
    • A similar result happens if a dummy is ejected, followed by the player. The ghost will be at the place where the dummy used to be when alive.
    • All dummies can be ejected leaving only the player alive.
