Crewmate[]
- On MIRA HQ, Impostors tend to travel with vents more due to the connected vent system, and if they are in a location without passing the sensor required to go there, you can be sure they're An Impostor. They can also be an Engineer.
- If someone is suspected of killing a Crewmate while no one was watching, you should check the Doorlog and see if they were with that player at any point in the game.
- If someone recently passed another player on Doorlog and they're dead the next emergency meeting, you can assume the player they passed is An Impostor.
- If someone passed a Crewmate earlier in the game multiple times and that Crewmate is dead, you should be suspicious of whom the now-dead Crewmate passed earlier in the game.
- If a player goes somewhere in the north region (e.g. Admin) with someone else, then if that player is dead by the next meeting, The Impostor is likely the player who went with them.
- Some players find it difficult to use Doorlog, so here is an alternative strategy to use if you are not the best at using Doorlog or if Comms Sabotaged is ongoing. You can stand in the center of the sensors, and if two players go through the sensors and none of them come back, check if any one of those two players is dead. If one is, the other may be The Impostor and used a vent. If both of them return, then it still isn't evidently known who The Impostor is. If one comes back and the other hasn't in a long time, they could be An Impostor, but check if the other is dead because they could just have vented to another location.
- If you see a player walk pass a sensor and nobody else is around, go to Communications and check the Doorlog. If it says that the player who last passed the sensor is not the one you saw, that player is a Shapeshifter.
- This works best with the southwest sensor due to its proximity to communications.
- Doorlog can also be useful to tell when a player is lying about their location, much like the Admin ability
- For example, During a meeting, Red claims that they were at Storage, but on the Doorlog, it says that the last sensor Red passed was The North sensor, That makes it impossible for Red to be in storage since they would have had to pass the southeast sensor first.
- You also don't have to worry about Shapeshifters, since the doorlog always registers everyone's original appearance.
Impostor[]
- As An Impostor, you should not give away your teammate's role, so the Doorlog provides something excellent for you - the ability to frame a Crewmate for killing someone, or perhaps venting.
- This can be done by killing a Crewmate and saying that another Crewmate passed the body recently because you saw through the Doorlog. This will lead the other Crewmates to believe that the framed Crewmate was the one who killed.
- Sabotaging Comms completely erases the Doorlog's logs. This is useful for Impostors, as it could remove evidence of venting or being in the same place as a dead Crewmate. However, if you were to use the above strategy and Comms are cleared after ejecting someone, you'll look very suspicious.
- You could also stand by the Doorlog panel to wait for your kill cooldown. There are no visual cues to give away that you do not have it open, which means you can stand there for a while without raising suspicion.
- However, this can backfire if a Crewmate asks what you saw on Doorlog when you were actually waiting for your cooldown to end. In a scenario like this, you should say that you didn't see anything suspicious. This may not always work, as the Crewmate may demand specific details, especially if they were also looking at Doorlog, and failing to provide them may raise suspicions and possibly lead to your ejection.
- Be aware that If you're a Shapeshifter and you are currently disguised as someone else, the Doorlog will ignore your disguise and register your original appearance, an observant Crewmate can use this to their advantage and potentially expose you as An Impostor, so be wary.
