Sabotage
This article is the strategy section for Phantoms.
You can add more strategies to this page. However, it must be related to the abilities and characteristics of Among Us. If not, your strategy will be removed.
  • Be secretive. Never, ever let anyone see you vanish or appear. If they do, they immediately know you're an Impostor because the animation always uses the player's color.
    • If you are seen, the best bet is to kill the witness immediately.
  • Gather intel on Crewmates. You can keep tabs on Crewmates while vanished. Use this to build up your alibi or scout out for potential kills.
  • Frame people. Once you find a Crewmate next to another one doing a task that will cover up a considerable portion of the screen (such as Upload Data or Calibrate Distributor), you can kill the Crewmate who isn't doing the task, vanish, go outside the room, & then reappear later if the Crewmate doing the task hasn't moved at all. You can then frame that Crewmate for killing your victim. If you have someone vouching for you, or you "just arrived" in the room alongside another Crewmate or a fellow Impostor, it's more likely that you'd get the crew to vote an innocent off. You can also kill a Crewmate after another Crewmate has left then vanish, resulting in the Crew thinking they killed the Crewmate/self-reported, and ejecting them. However, smart Crewmates may pretend to leave to bait you into killing the other one, then backtracking to see if you indeed killed the other.
  • Darkness is your friend. Unless you're in the The Fungle, try to Sabotage the Lights & slink away from the crew unnoticed if you can. You can then kill an isolated Crewmate, vanish from the crime scene, & reappear somewhere else.
  • Vanish & reappear away from the walls. Do not vanish or reappear close to the walls if it can be avoided, as the animation could be visible to players outside of view.
  • Be careful with Engineers, Trackers and/or Detectives: One of those roles will know your location if you're invisible (for Trackers), see you turning invisible or vice versa (for Engineers) or know where were you when one of your murders is investigated (for Detectives) without know it and get caught in the act.
  • Fake claim Tracker. If you know that the Tracker is dead or there is a very low chance of a Tracker, you can vanish and stalk a Crewmate and then report their whereabouts in the next meeting. Since you know exactly where they went, it should be very convincing when you share the information. This will convince the Crewmates not to vote you out as Tracker is a very useful role. However, make sure to keep track of your Vanish duration, and find a safe place to appear. You also have to remember not to give extra information if Comms Sabotaged goes off while you are stalking them, as it is impossible to track someone during said sabotage, and being able to do so means you are lying, easily deducing that you are an Impostor.
