This article is the strategy section for Trackers.
You can add more strategies to this page. However, it must be related to the abilities and characteristics of Among Us. If not, your strategy will be removed.
As a Tracker, you should track players who you suspect of being the Impostor. If they are a Crewmate, you can end up vouching for their movements. However, if they are an Impostor, then you can end up catching them lying about their location and pathing.
You should also track hard-clear Crewmates. Those players are the Impostors' targets. If they stop moving, then they may be dead and you should go report their body. If they are dead and another body is reported instead of their body, then you can give information regarding where they died.
On the map, a tracked player will always show up as their true colour. If the refresh rate is fast enough and you see the tracked person stood where you cannot see anyone, or a different colour is stood there, the person you are tracking is likely a Phantom or Shapeshifter respectively.
However when Comms is sabotaged, you cannot use your tracker.
If you overtly start tracking someone and Comms Sabotaged is called right after, whoever you tried to track is probably An Impostor; they do not want you to know where they are because that could reveal incriminating information. It could also not be the case, but the real Impostor trying to force Engineers out of the vent, disable Guardian Angels' shields, or just plainly spamming sabotage.
Give information to the Detectives, since if an impostor lies about his whereabouts during an investigated murder, you can share their location and debunk that impostor.
Likewise, if anyone lies about their location after you track them, they are most likely an Impostor, or just bad at the game.
If the refresh rate is 0 seconds and you see the person you are tracking teleport, you can deduce one of two things:
If they teleported between two rooms and were not near a doorway, they vented.
If they teleported only a short distance, they killed.
You can bypass the tracking delay by opening your tracker map and closing it quickly at very short intervals. As you are opening and closing it, it works as a frame animation and gives you near-real time location tracking without any significant delay.
If you see the person you are tracking, go to one of these places on the skeld: the top left corner of Upper Engine, the bottom left corner of Lower Engine, the top or bottom corners of Reactor(if there is no Reactor Meltdown, ), the extreme bottom right corner of MedBay(not recommended as they may be doing Inspect Sample), top of Cafeteria, bottom corner of Navigation, into any area of Communications other than the one around the entrance, extreme top right or bottom right corner of Admin(especially if there is no Swipe Card or Oxygen Depleted going off,), and stay there for 2 seconds, they are most likely a Phantom or Shapeshifter, as these are the optimal places to Vanish or Shift, as there is a massive blindspot or is a place nobody will check, and both animations of Vanish and Shift take roughly 2 seconds. Your best bet is to call a meeting immediately. It is NOT RECOMMENDED to rush to where they are immediately, as if they are a Shapeshifter, they will usually kill the first person they see(you). During the meeting, ask where they were, if they lie, they are definitely an Impostor. Stopping randomly for 2 or so seconds in rooms or hallways while the lights are off or the doors are closed can also be deemed suspicious, but do not call a meeting immediately as they may just be a Scientist and are checking vitals. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FOOLPROOF WAY TO CATCH AN IMPOSTOR. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAR YOURSELF BEFORE CALLING A MEETING AND HASTILY VOTING THEM OUT IN THE CASE THEY ARE INNOCENT.
If someone disappears off your tracking map, do not immediately deduce they were a Phantom. Phantoms remain visible on the map even though they have vanished, and the cause of the disappearance was either due to Communications Sabotaged, or just your tracking time running out.
