- H. Stickmin is a reference to Henry Stickmin, the main titular protagonist from the Henry Stickmin games made by Marcus Bromander.
- If a player with this pet is killed, H. Stickmin cries. This could be a reference to the Valiant Hero ending in Completing the Mission, where his friend, Charles Calvin, perished in the doomed Toppat Orbital Station.
- In promotional artwork for Among Us's pets, H. Stickmin is present and owned by Red, who also has E. Rose.
