Local is a game mode in Among Us, selectable on the main menu. Similar to online, games are created by hosts, consist of a lobby before the game starts, and allow other players to join. These games are hosted via an Internet connection and allow any player on the host's same Wi-Fi network to join.
Overview[]
Local games can be joined by any player on the same Wi-Fi network as the host. All available games are listed under "Available Games" on the local menu. Players can create games via the "Host" section above available games.
All game options can be changed via customize in the lobby. Like online, even the map can be changed at any time. The only game option that is absent from local is the maximum number of players who can join.
Trivia[]
- Before The Airship was released, players can create a local lobby and using the map section to find The Airship and be able to create The Airship lobbies then in Online.
- Local is not available on the Xbox edition and PlayStation edition.
- Due to hardware limitations, Local multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch edition is limited to 8 players.
