Start is an ability usable by the host in any game's lobby.
Overview[]
The start button can be used in any game's lobby, and is only available to the host. In order to press the button, there must be at least four players in the lobby. If there are too few players to start the game, the button is rendered partially transparent and is not usable. If the host still presses the start button under these circumstances, the player counter shakes.
Description[]
When at least four players join the host's lobby, the button is enabled. The following table shows the color of the player counter.
0/15 | 1/15 | 2/15 | 3/15 | 4/15 | 5/15 | 6/15 | 7/15 | 8/15 | 9/15 | 10/15 | 11/15 | 12/15 | 13/15 | 14/15 | 15/15 |
When the host presses the start button, a five-second countdown will start, which is visible to all players in the lobby. The timer reads as "Starting in 5" and decreases to 0. When the countdown reaches 0, the game starts. If a player disconnects during the countdown, or a player joins when the countdown is lower than 4, the timer stops and the host needs to press the start button again. If the host presses the start button on 4/15 players, they may receive a message that discourages starting on 4, but they can still start the game. This pop-up can be disabled, and the host can still start the game.
Trivia[]
- This is the only ability in which the button for it disappears upon its usage. However, if a player leaves or joins, the button can be brought back.
- The button will not return if a player leaves/joins in the same moment the host starts.
- Sometimes, the button will not come back if a player leaves or joins the game during the countdown. This is a bug.
